“My son and I saw a show there on Sunday, August 9th, 2026 which consisted of Tom Hambridge as the opening act and They were great and meeting Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram as the main act. It was a fantastic show!!! The venue itself while small, was very professional and courteous. The artists were fantastic. Kingfish is a Blues legend already in his mid twenties. His guitar playing, songwriting and soulful blues voice are awesome. He has a special way of connecting with the audience that king of personalizes your experience. And with the size of the venue, there’s not a bad seat in the house. Can’t wait to see Kingfish again and see what other artists will perform at this venue. And I must say that Tom Hambridge and his two guitarists were an unexpected surprise. They were great and meeting Tom was awesome too. To Jay and the staff at the venue, thank you very much I will be back.”

Right here in Springfield, the Pioneer Valley Ska Festival returned! 30 bands from all over the nation ventured to 52 Sumner in Springfield for 2 days of skanking, ska, and ska-punk goodness. We heard from one of those 30 bands, Futon Lasagna from eastern and central Mass, as well as organizer Eric Coles of 413Ska about picking up the beat in this corner of the valley.

Summer Guide 2026: From concerts to speakeasies, 52 Sumner brings range of entertainment to Forest Park

SPRINGFIELD — Looking ahead to a third season of summer programming, Angela Park, co-founder of 52 Sumner, had one thing to say: “it’s crazy.”

“We went from having almost nothing and then it was just piling on, we are scheduled all the way out now until December,” she continued of the Forest Park venue, which she co-founded with Dan McKellick in 2024 in the home of the former Faith United Church.

The venue opened that spring with a performance by Grammy-winning blues singer Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. It was a sell-out concert, and Park said ever since then, Ingram has been in talks to return to 52 Sumner.

The Springfield Chamber Players will present the SCP Oboe Quartet at 52 Sumner on Sunday, May 17 at 3 p.m. Marsha Harbison, assistant concertmaster of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO), will lead the group to perform works by Mozart and more. She will be joined by SSO oboist Karen Hosmer, SSO violist Dani Rimoni, and SSO cellist Boris Kogan.
